英文比較好一點以後，常拿它來跟中文做比較。中文當然組織緊密遣詞精確得多。 口語而言國語裡常用的成語多半是源於歷史典故，隨便落出幾句氣質都快破表了；台語更是俗的鏗鏘有力，人物事件情緒無不描繪得栩栩如生。

英文呢?

有些用語真的還蠻搞笑的... 也許是因為我老公喜歡用這種不高深的俚語吧...

比如說，用比較婉轉的方法說「上大號」這件事，當然可以直接了當說 "number two"，不過好沒梗阿~

還是老公教我暗語的厲害: "drop the kids off at the pool" (把孩子們丟進泳池)

用中文造字六法來聯想的話，比較偏向於形聲 - 物體噗通噗通落入水中的聲音，而不是象形 - 小孩跟便便不像阿!

向來資質駑鈍的我對這種有的沒的資訊吸收最快，從此我們家一天到晚都有舉一反三的例子:

"honey, the book says you should drop the kids off at the pool in the morning right after you wake up!" (晨泳和晨便都比較健康呀...)

"I can't drop the kids off at the pool. They are stuck." (誰叫你昨天晚上青菜吃那麼少~)

"Did you just drop the kids off at the pool? They stink like shit!" (阿要不然咧?)

"The kids can't wait anymore. I have to drop them off at the pool NOW." (還不快用跑的!)

說實話真的很好用，還有許多引申用法:

"The kids are getting older and tougher." (來杯咖啡吧!)

"My kids can't swim in public pools." (又不是只有我，這很正常!)

總而言之，用法是依實際需求創造出來的。 大家一定也可以造樣造句。  哪一天家裡有小孩大概就會變得比較複雜了...
